Saqqara Step Pyramid

Besides the three main pyramids in Giza and the other smaller ones, you will find the first and the most distinguishable one among them which is called Djoser Step Pyramid. Qaitbay Citadel

This magnificent citadel is considered one of the most essential defensive strongholds all along with the Mediterranean Sea coast built from 1477 AD to 1479 AD. It was a very important site in Alexandria in the 15th century and in fact, it was constructed in the same location as the Lighthouse of Alexandria that was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World but it was destroyed and got replaced with Qaitbey Citadel.

Pompey's Pillar

This is a Roman Triumphal Column found in Alexandria between 298 AD and 302 AD and the Pompey's Pillar is considered the largest one of its type has a height of 28 meters that was constructed outside the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople. This unique masterpiece is one of the largest ancient monoliths ever erected.

Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa

You will get totally amazed when you know that this site was discovered accidentally in 1900 because of a donkey and it fact this catacomb is the largest-known Roman burial site in Egypt that was made between the 2nd century and the 4th century AD that was dedicated for a single family who lived in ancient Egypt. Inside the Catacombs, you will find three tiers of tombs & chambers cut into bedrock to a depth of 35m.

The High Dam

The Unfinished Obelisk

This is one of the most fascinating obelisks that were erected in ancient Egypt during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC). She intended to let it be one of the largest obelisks as a complement to the Lateran Obelisk in Karnak but its upper part got cracked and that is why the queen ordered her builders to stop constructing it and leave it that way. It has a total height of 42 m and a total weight of 1000 tons which is able to shed light on the unbelievable skill of the ancient Egyptian builders.

Philae Temple

This is one of the most visited sites in Aswan that was dedicated to goddess Isis, the goddess of love & beauty. Philae Temple was a truly important religious temple in ancient Egypt and due to its importance, the government decided to relocate it to its current location in Agilikia Island as it was in great danger of being destroyed but now it is safe and visited by thousands of tourists.

Abu Simbel Temples

These are two massive remarkable rock temples at Abu Simbel. They are actually 2 temples carved out of the mountainside in the 13th century BC during the reign of Ramses II (1279-1213 BCE). The largest one was constructed to commemorate the king's victory in the Battle of Kadesh which ended in the signing of the first ever documented peace treaty and the other one was dedicated to the lovely wife of Queen Nefertari. The most surprising thing about these temples is that they were relocated in 1968 with the help of UNESCO otherwise the two temples would have been submerged during the creation of Lake Nasser. One of the most important festivals that take place at the temple is the Sun Festival which happens on the 22 of each year during October and February where the sun enters the temple to illuminate the faces of the seated statues of Ptah, Amun, Ra‑Horakhty, and a divine statue of Ramsess the great.

Karnak Temple

Colossi of Memnon

There are a lot of stories that revolve around these twin statues of King Amenhotep III who constructed a hypnotic mortuary temple but the whole temple got destroyed and these two statues are the only remaining of this complex which was made in 1350 BC that reaches the height of 18 m (60 ft).

Valley of the Queens

It was dedicated to the goddess Hathor and the valley holds some of the most preserved artistic decorations.

Dendara Temple is one of the most interesting temples that covers more than 40,000 square meters and it was actually inhabited in prehistory. Abydos Temple

The golden Temple of Abydos came to its current shape in the new kingdom but it has long existed during the old kingdom. It is the temple of Seti I who was the least well-known Pharaoh of the New Kingdom. The Hanging Church

The Hanging Church is the most favorable church for the majority of tourists who come to visit Egypt as it was built on the southern gate of the Roman Fortress of Babylon in the 5^th century AD and from the 7th till the 13th, it served as the residence of the Coptic Patriarch.

Amr Ibn Al Aas Mosque

This is one of the most visited mosques in Egypt that got its name after the amazing commander Amr Ibn El-As and it is the first mosque to be built in Africa in 641 AD in a place that become known as Fustat the first ever Islamic capital of Egypt. Ben Ezra Synagogue

The most interesting thing about this synagogue is that it was actually a Christian Church and the Copts had to sell it to the Jews in 882 AD. Ben Ezra Synagogue got renovated and received many restorations and the current building date back to 1892 when the original synagogue collapsed.

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) is a golden legend from the heavens that showcase the entire history and culture of Egypt that lasted for more than 5000 years across the ages and was gifted with many treasures and artifacts taken from different time period.
