Day One: Arrival at Cairo Airport - Check-in 5* Hotel
The second you arrive at Cairo Airport, our "Marvelous Egypt Tour" representative will pick you up from Cairo airport and help you complete all of your passport entry formalities, luggage identification & carry. Then, you will be transferred by a private air-conditioned car to your 5* hotel reservation.

The Great Sphinx has been the guardian of Egypt since its creation. It is the world's greatest and oldest statue in history, it has the shape of a mythical creature known as the Sphinx which has the body of a lion and the head of a man which is probably shaped after King Khafre head as a symbol of wisdom and might. In ancient times, it was called "Hor-Em-Akhet" which means "Horus of the Horizon" but now it is known as Abu Al-Hawl which means The Father of terror in Arabic.
The Valley temple lies just next to the Pyramids of Giza, it was constructed in Egypt old Kingdom (2686 2134 BC) the place where the Mummification Process took place. It holds a special place among all the Pyramids of Egypt as it is one of the first Pyramids ever constructed in Egypt in 2700 BC and is credited with starting the age of pyramids constructions. The city served as the first official capital of Egypt since its foundation by King Menes to be the life of the two lands. The Citadel has been overlooking the glorious city of Cairo for more than 800 years. It looks over the entire city of Cairo from the hill of Mokattam since its construction in 1182 AD by the great conqueror Salah El-Din. Inside the citadel lies a number of museums, and beautifully structured buildings the Cairo Citadel served became the headquarters of the government for more than 700 years. The mosque has gained the name of the alabaster mosque due to its unique design and the extensive usage of marble. It was constructed between 1830 and 1848 AD to be a replica of the blue mosque in Istanbul and act as a symbol of independence and freedom against the Ottoman Empire. Mohamed Ali Mosque is truly enchanting with its ottoman style architecture of French rococo influences with enchanting finishes of ornate of red, green, and gold and a great enchanting dome. The mosque holds an ornate brass clock a gift from King Louis Philippe of France to Muhammad Ali in 1845 in exchange for an obelisk that stands in the Concorde square in Paris. Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa is truly hypnotic as it acts as a beautiful piece of art symbolizing the influence of the ancient Egyptian culture on the Greco-Roman Period. It was built as a necropolis dating to the 2nd century AD which is able to merge the artistic elements of the Hellenistic and Roman culture with the ancient Egyptian Pharaonic design in the ultimate breathtaking fashion. It holds a great number of Greek and Roman artifacts and decoration in its three-level stories which made it gain the title of one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages.
Pompey's pillar is famous for being the largest monolith column ever built outside of Rome. It was named Pompey's pillar as in the Middle Ages the Crusaders mistakenly believed that the remains of the great Roman general Pompey is located in a pot at the very top of the pillar. It stands at a height of 28 m tall and 2.7 m wide of pure red granite and on its western upper side is a Greek inscription dedicated to Emperor Diocletian.
It is the beautiful fusion of Greco-Roman & Islamic architecture, it was constructed in 1477 by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-din Qa'it Bay on the same site which held the legendary lighthouse of Alexandria using the stones salvaged from the destroyed lighthouse that served as the third longest surviving ancient wonder in the world until it's destruction by series of earthquakes between 956 AD and 1323 AD. Qaitbay Citadel is famous because it is believed it holds the immortal illuminating spirit of the Alexandria Lighthouse plus some incredible designs for the Islamic era.
